Said Aqsbi Announces Series of Meetings to Revitalize Football in Fes-Meknes Region

As part of his efforts to bring about a significant transformation in the football landscape of the Fes-Meknes region, Mr. Said Aqsbi, the founding president of the Aqsbi Football Academy, has announced a series of communication meetings to bring together various stakeholders in the region’s sports community.

The first meeting will take place in Fes on December 13, 2024, at the academy’s premises, followed by additional meetings in Meknes, Taounate, and Taza.

According to Mr. Aqsbi, the aim of these meetings is to unite the different components of the football system in the region, including administrators, technical staff, referees, journalists, former players, and all those interested in football affairs. The discussions will focus on the current state of football in the Fes-Meknes Regional League. The meetings will also address several issues the institution has faced over the past two decades, as well as the current challenges faced by the management committee.

The sessions aim to find practical solutions to overcome obstacles hindering the development of football in the nine provinces that make up the region, especially in light of Morocco’s preparations to host two major sporting events: the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Mr. Aqsbi emphasized that these meetings are completely unrelated to any electoral agenda concerning the Fes-Meknes Regional Football League, stressing that their sole purpose is to serve the interests of football in the region.
