The Al-Anwar Sports Association of Fes Football Club, led by President Karim Amzoufi, has submitted an official protest letter to the President of the Regional League of Fes-Meknes. The letter, dated December 2, 2024, objects to unexpected changes made to the group draw system for the Regional Women’s Football Championship.
In the letter, the association emphasized that these changes were implemented without prior notice or coordination with the participating clubs. The alterations included removing teams from groups initially agreed upon during the preliminary draw, causing discontent among affected clubs.
The association demanded a return to the original draw, highlighting the importance of transparency and fairness in managing the championship. It also called for improved communication between the league and the clubs to prevent unilateral decisions that could undermine the integrity of the competition.
This protest comes at a time when preparations for the regional championship are in full swing. A formal response from the Fes-Meknes Regional League regarding these changes and the clubs’ demands is awaited.
