A large-scale cleaning campaign was launched on Sunday, December 1, 2024, in the Massira district of Fes, initiated by civil society associations and under the direct supervision of the Fes-Meknes Regional Prefecture.
This initiative comes in response to the Regional Governor’s directives and recommendations from prefecture officials, following an extensive meeting held last Friday with local authorities.
The campaign saw active participation from six prominent local associations: Amal Al Massira Football Association, Al Nahda Association for Women and Children’s Advancement, Fes Crescent Sports Football Club, Crescent Sports Association for Boxing and Full Contact, Golden Dragon Taekwondo Association, and Al Tadamon Social Development Association.
The campaign was coordinated with “Mecomar,” the company responsible for cleaning services in Fes, covering the neighborhoods of Al Nassim, Al Basma, and Al Mustaqbal. The initiative aimed to clean these areas and raise citizen awareness about the importance of environmental preservation.
The initiative received strong approval from residents who actively participated in the campaign, considering it an important step toward neighborhood improvement. Local authorities supervised the campaign, which took place in a fraternal atmosphere.
Local authorities and participating associations agreed to expand the initiative’s scope to include other associations in the area, while establishing a regular intervention program for various neighborhoods.
The campaign, which adopted the slogan “Cleanliness is Everyone’s Responsibility,” concluded at 1:00 PM under normal conditions, with promises to continue such initiatives in the future.
