Moroccan inventor Fouad Faqiri won the gold medal at the Seoul International Inventions Exhibition (SSIF), held in the Korean capital from November 27 to 30. During the exhibition, Faqiri received an honorary award from the Singaporean “Citizen Innovation” organization, in addition to the “Innovation Icon” title granted by the Malaysian Ministry of Defense.
Representing the sole African participant in the exhibition, Faqiri showcased a distinctive invention related to a device for generating clean electrical energy, with efficiency surpassing solar and wind technologies. The device is adaptable to various sizes and is capable of converting gravitational and magnetic energy into mechanical energy, and subsequently into green and sustainable electrical energy.
In a statement to the Morocco News Agency (MAP), Faqiri expressed his deep pride in this recognition, which is his fifth in 2024, and in representing the Kingdom of Morocco in international scientific forums.
He noted that his invention has gained international recognition, having been honored in the Middle East during the International Inventions Exhibition in Kuwait, the Geneva Exhibition, and the International Inventions Exhibition in Tokyo, where he won the gold medal and the grand prize. He was also honored at the ninth edition of the International Inventions Exhibition in Adana, Turkey, during the past October.
The Moroccan inventor indicated that his project will contribute to changing the characteristics of energy production in terms of environmental protection and preservation, with expectations of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 60 to 70 percent over the next two decades.
He expressed hope that his invention will significantly contribute to Morocco’s efforts in renewable energy, affirming his openness to all initiatives targeting the exploitation of the advanced technologies he presents.
Over 400 inventors participated in the Seoul exhibition, mostly from Korea, China, and other East Asian countries, alongside Arab delegations from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
It is worth noting that Faqiri previously won the gold medal at the Kuwait International Inventions Exhibition in February and the Geneva International Inventions Exhibition in April. He obtained a patent for designing a clean electrical energy production device on November 30, 2023.
