King Mohammed VI Renews Morocco’s Support for the Palestinian Cause and Calls for Ceasefire in Gaza

King Mohammed VI, in a message to the President of the UN Committee on the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, affirmed the Kingdom of Morocco’s support for all initiatives aimed at finding practical solutions to establish a permanent ceasefire and improve the humanitarian situation in Palestinian territories.

The Moroccan monarch stressed the necessity of achieving an immediate and lasting halt to aggression in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians in all Palestinian territories and preventing their targeting.

The King explained that Morocco is striving, through its distinctive relations with various parties and international powers, to create suitable conditions for returning to the negotiation table, considering it the only path to ending the conflict and establishing security and stability in the Middle East.

As the President of the Al-Quds Committee in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, King Mohammed VI reaffirmed his personal commitment to preserving the legal, historical, and demographic status of Jerusalem, considering it a sacred place for the three monotheistic religions.

The Moroccan monarch revealed that he has sent urgent humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip three times, including basic medicines and equipment for treating burns and emergency surgical cases, in light of the catastrophic humanitarian conditions experienced by the Strip’s residents.

The King reiterated Morocco’s full support for the Palestinian National Authority led by Mahmoud Abbas, emphasizing the importance of achieving the Palestinian people’s aspirations for freedom, independence, security, unity, and prosperity.
