Recently, the Ain Chkef community has witnessed a genuine environmental and developmental initiative launched by the Governor of Moulay Yacoub, which has been widely praised by local residents and visitors. The initiative focused on public cleanliness and the rehabilitation of the forest, which is considered the lungs of the city of Fes and the surrounding area of Ain Chkef.
The initiative included the removal of all black spots that marred the area’s beauty, along with a comprehensive cleaning of the riverbanks and the road leading to the community, which involved cutting down hazardous trees that posed a danger to pedestrians. Additionally, security monitoring of the forest was enhanced by local authorities and auxiliary forces, making it safer for visitors.
Among the key outcomes of this initiative was the establishment of clear visiting hours for the forest and the organization of activities within it, which contributed to improving the visitor experience and ensuring their safety.
The initiative received significant praise from residents and visitors, who called for the continuation and enhancement of such efforts with the participation of all components of civil society. Observers emphasized the importance of actively engaging in these purposeful initiatives, which contribute to improving the quality of life and rehabilitating the Ain Chkef area to become a model to be emulated at the regional level.
