In a significant move to enhance Morocco’s industrial sector both locally and internationally, Azeddine Jettou, President of the Moroccan Leather Federation, visited Fez on November 21, 2024, to launch a segment of the upcoming International Textile, Leather, and Footwear Exhibition.
This event, set to take place in Casablanca this December, marks the first collaboration with global company “Pyramid,” showcasing Morocco’s production and innovation capabilities in this vital sector.
During his visit to Fez, Jettou emphasized the importance of this initiative in promoting Moroccan industries, particularly in leather and footwear. He highlighted that the exhibition would provide an exclusive platform for Moroccan manufacturers to display their products, positioning them at the forefront of global markets.
He also noted that the partnership with “Pyramid” is expected to open new export opportunities for Moroccan producers. Jettou expressed pride in Morocco’s craftsmanship, describing the event as a chance to spotlight Fez as a historic hub for leather and footwear production.
Through this partnership, the Moroccan Leather Federation aims to elevate local industries to a global level. The Casablanca exhibition will feature strong participation from Moroccan companies, fostering international collaborations and offering new export opportunities for local manufacturers.
Jettou also discussed plans to develop Fez as an industrial center, highlighting major projects, including the establishment of an industrial zone in Ain Chkaf within the Fez-Meknes region. This zone will host over 75 leather-related companies and 40 to 45 tanneries, serving as a nucleus for leather and footwear manufacturing. Additional facilities for footwear and garment production will further attract investments and stimulate the local economy.
As part of the Federation’s strategy to expand Morocco’s industrial reach, modern infrastructure adhering to global standards will be implemented, facilitating the entry of Moroccan products into new international markets. Jettou also outlined plans for future exhibitions in cities such as Casablanca, Marrakesh, Fez, and Tangier, creating platforms for Moroccan manufacturers to showcase their innovations and introduce the world to their production capabilities.
This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy to develop Morocco’s industrial sector and reflects a clear vision of enhancing the global competitiveness of Moroccan products.
