Yesterday, Thursday, November 7, 2024, the main hall of the Moulay Yacoub Province headquarters hosted an extraordinary session of the Provincial Council, presided over by Council President Jawad Douahi, and attended by Provincial Governor Mohamed Samir Khamlithi, along with several council members.
In his opening remarks, the Provincial Governor emphasized the critical role of the council in maintaining territorial balance and solidarity, highlighting the need for full engagement in development initiatives spearheaded by King Mohammed VI. He urged the council to continue implementing projects with social and economic impact, particularly addressing water stress and ensuring potable water supply, especially in rural areas.
Key topics discussed during this extraordinary session included the 2025 budget proposal for the Provincial Council, which was unanimously approved, and the allocation of financial support for school transportation across local municipalities.
This initiative aims to improve student transport services, supporting continued access to education.
