The eminent jurist and scholar Sidi Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Azraq al-Fasi passed away this past Monday at the age of 103 years old. May God the Almighty have mercy on him and grant him abode in the expansive gardens of Paradise.
The deceased was considered one of the prominent scholars and jurists of Morocco, having held numerous distinguished academic positions and responsibilities throughout his illustrious career. He was among the founders of the Association of Moroccan Scholars, and he taught at the Faculty of Sharia in Fez and the Hassan II Hadith Institute from 1992 to 2007.
With the passing of the scholar al-Azraq, Morocco has lost one of its most eminent scholars who dedicated their lives to the dissemination of knowledge and learning. All the people of the nation extend their heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, beseeching the Almighty Lord to envelop him in His vast mercy, grant him abode in the spacious gardens of Paradise, and bestow patience and solace upon his family and loved ones. “Indeed, we belong to God, and to Him we shall return.”
