In accordance with the provisions of Article 37 of Dahir No. 1-15-85 dated Ramadan 20, 1436 (July 7, 2015), the Ain Cheggaf Municipality in the Moulay Yacoub province held an extraordinary session on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, under the chairmanship of Mr. Kamal Laafou, the president of the council. The session was dedicated to discussing and approving an agreement to supply rural areas with water and electricity services.
During the meeting, which took place at the Ain Cheggaf Municipality headquarters, unanimous approval was given to the establishment of the “Fez-Meknes Distribution” inter-municipal group. This group will oversee a major project aimed at improving the distribution of water and electricity in rural areas, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among various parties to ensure the sustainability and development of these services.
The signing of this agreement reflects the commitment of local municipalities to enhancing infrastructure and improving the quality of life in rural areas, particularly in terms of water and electricity distribution and wastewater management. The council president stressed that this initiative showcases ongoing efforts to unify and coordinate the work of various stakeholders to improve the level of services provided to citizens.
At the end of the session, Mr. Jilali Douma was elected as the representative of Ain Cheggaf Municipality in the “Fez-Meknes Distribution” council, continuing the efforts to strengthen partnerships among local municipalities and achieve sustainable development goals in the region.
