Mr. Said Aznibar, Governor of the Fez-Meknes region and Governor of the province of Fez, presided over a ceremony on Thursday to install new officials appointed as part of the annual transfer movement launched by the Ministry of the Interior. The ceremony was attended by a wide range of dignitaries, including heads of judicial bodies, government officials, members of parliament, elected councilors, representatives of professional chambers, university presidents, deans, directors, and representatives of political parties, trade unions, civil society, and the media.
In his speech, the Governor emphasized the importance of strengthening the new concept of authority established by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in his historic speech in Casablanca in 1999. He noted that this concept serves as a fundamental reference for managing local public affairs. The Governor explained that the goal of this concept is to support the rule of law, protect public facilities, ensure the security and safety of citizens, and foster effective partnerships with all local stakeholders, including elected councils, civil society, and the private sector.
The Governor also stressed the importance of positive interaction with citizens and a focus on administrative modernization and continuous adaptation to social programs. He noted that the city of Fez has witnessed a strengthening of its administrative divisions with the creation of 15 new administrative units, aimed at improving the quality of services provided to citizens and responding to their growing needs.
In conclusion, the Governor expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the officials who were transferred to new assignments, commending their efforts and dedication to duty. He called on the new officials to demonstrate integrity, objectivity, and openness, and to work towards promoting the principles of proactivity and accountability.
This ceremony comes within the context of the new dynamic that the Ministry of Interior seeks to establish through the renewal of local leadership and the strengthening of the effectiveness of territorial administration, in line with the Kingdom of Morocco’s orientation towards developing proximity governance and ensuring sustainable development under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
