A reliable source from the Fes-Meknes region has confirmed that all projects related to preparing Fes for the 2030 World Cup will officially commence in September.
These initiatives are in line with the royal directives aimed at developing the city’s infrastructure and preparing it to host this major global sporting event.
The projects include expanding the Fes Grand Stadium to become one of the largest and most modern stadiums in the region, with a seating capacity of approximately 53,000. This expansion will ensure that the stadium meets FIFA’s international standards, incorporating the latest technologies. Improvements will also be made to the surrounding facilities and transport networks to facilitate the movement of fans and participating teams.
In addition, there will be upgrades to the city’s tourism and hospitality infrastructure to ensure optimal conditions for the thousands of fans and visitors expected during the tournament. This is part of a comprehensive plan announced by the Ministry of Interior to develop Fes and achieve sustainable development in the region.
These steps are part of Morocco’s preparations to host the 2030 World Cup in partnership with Spain and Portugal, reflecting King Mohammed VI’s vision of enhancing cooperation between Africa and Europe and reaffirming the kingdom’s capability to organize such major global events.
