In an exclusive statement to Fes News, a resident of Al-Fadila neighborhood on Ain Shaqaf Road, located in the Saiss district of Fes, expressed the residents’ deep dissatisfaction with the significant deterioration in essential services in the neighborhood, turning their daily lives into a constant struggle.
The resident explained that the vacant spaces in the neighborhood, which could have been transformed into green areas or recreational spaces for children, have instead become makeshift garbage dumps.
The accumulation of waste has not only caused unpleasant odors and health problems but has also attracted stray dogs that roam the area in large numbers, posing a direct threat to the safety of the residents, especially children.
He further added that the issue of inadequate street lighting exacerbates the residents’ suffering, as the streets are poorly lit, plunging the neighborhood into complete darkness at night.
This situation heightens the sense of insecurity, increases the prevalence of illegal activities, and exposes residents to the risk of falls or stumbling on the deteriorating pathways and roads.
Regarding infrastructure, the resident pointed out that the roads and alleyways in Al-Fadila neighborhood are in a severe state of disrepair, filled with potholes and cracks, making movement within the neighborhood challenging and dangerous, particularly during the winter season or at night.
This condition hampers both vehicle and pedestrian movement, adding to the residents’ suffering, especially the elderly and children.
The residents of Al-Fadila neighborhood are urgently appealing to local authorities to improve the living conditions in this neglected area.
Their demands include cleaning up public spaces from waste, regularly improving waste collection services, enhancing street lighting, and repairing roads and alleyways in a manner that respects the dignity of the citizens.
The residents of Al-Fadila hope that their voices will be heard by the authorities and that concrete actions will be taken to improve the situation, restoring some vitality to the neighborhood and making it a safer and more comfortable place to live.
