Student Source: “Human Trafficking” in Master’s and PhD Programs at One of the Universities in Fez

A student source, who refused to disclose their name for fear of academic retaliation, revealed the existence of real human trafficking among researchers in the Master’s and PhD programs at faculties of one of the universities in Fez. The source confirmed that some supervising professors practice all kinds of blackmail against the victims.

The source added that the student researchers live in constant fear of retaliation from supervisors in case of publicly reporting the practices of some professors. They explained that these practices include financial and academic extortion, which puts researchers in a difficult situation that prevents them from achieving their academic goals.

Previously, one of the faculties at a university in Fez was shaken by the crime of money for grades, during which security and judicial authorities intervened to punish the perpetrator.

The source called on the relevant authorities to assume their responsibility and protect students from these serious crimes. They emphasized the need to take firm measures to ensure an honest academic university environment, enabling students to continue their studies without fear or pressure.
