Fez, July 22, 2024 – The Sabou Aquarium Agency announced the organization of an awareness-raising campaign for children in summer camps on the importance of preserving water resources and rationalizing their use. This initiative comes within the framework of continuing the process of awareness and sensitization of the importance of preserving water resources and rationalizing their use for the year 2024, under the slogan “Rationalizing water consumption is the responsibility of all of us.”
The agency noted that during the past six years, Morocco has been living in a difficult context characterized by scarcity of water resources and water stress due to the lack of rainfall and the increasing demand for this vital substance, in addition to the various effects of climate change.
The awareness-raising convoy will start on the morning of Monday, July 29, at the Imouzar Kandar camp, then pass successively through the Imouzar collective camp and then the Ras al-Maa camp in the city of Ifrane on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 30 and 31, 2024.
This awareness and sensitization campaign on the importance of water conservation will be organized in cooperation and coordination with local authorities, as well as the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the youth sector in both the Sefrou and Ifrane provinces.
The Sabou Aquarium Agency has harnessed a range of important and diverse communication means to make this campaign a success, including distributing posters and brochures. The convoy will also include organizing activation sessions, digital space workshops, and cultural competitions for the benefit of children, including important information about how to rationalize water consumption and encourage them to contribute to preserving water resources.
This campaign aims to sensitize and educate children about the necessity of saving water and rationalizing its use, in addition to developing awareness among young people about the proper management of water resources so that they are a responsible generation concerned with preserving this precious resource for the benefit of future generations.
