Meknes – The Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, inaugurated “Coco Park” in Meknes on Wednesday. This park is the largest amusement space in Morocco, requiring an investment of 200 million dirhams.
This project, which will create more than 480 direct and indirect jobs, significantly enhances the recreational offerings in the Fez-Meknes region. It aligns with the momentum initiated by the signing of the tourism roadmap implementation contract for the region on January 30, 2024, which focuses on improving the tourist experience.
In a press statement at the event, Ms. Ammor noted that this project is “a true catalyst for regional economic development.” She added that “projects like Coco Park are essential to provide high-quality entertainment capable of attracting families and leisure enthusiasts, which also contributes to increasing average lengths of stay.”
The Minister, accompanied by the Governor of Meknes Prefecture, Abdelghani Sabbar, the President of the Fez-Meknes Regional Council, Abdelouahed El Ansari, and the Director General of the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT), Imad Barrakad, emphasized that the government strongly supports investment in entertainment through dedicated programs such as “Go Siyaha,” “Moukawala Siyahia,” and the new investment charter.
For his part, the park’s administrator, Hicham Meskini, stated that “this long-term project is part of a new era to bring Morocco into the field of leisure and entertainment.” He added that it also aims to support the region’s tourism development strategy for 2030 and encourage other investors to enter this field.
Immersive Experience
“Coco Park” offers a unique immersive Amazonian-themed experience over an area of more than 10 hectares. With over 50 attractions for all ages, including arcade games, thrilling rides, and novel attractions, the park promises an unforgettable experience.
Among the park’s flagship attractions, which will officially open to the public on July 20, are a rafting simulator, a 5D cinema, and an impressive 300-meter-long zipline.
Visitors will be able to enjoy spectacular animal shows, numerous animations, and supervised water games, all set in a jungle decor with pre-Columbian architecture for a unique exotic atmosphere.
The park, which can accommodate up to 7,000 visitors per day, also offers themed restaurants and souvenir shops to complete the visitor experience.
Easily accessible from the highway, Coco Park aims to become an essential leisure destination in Morocco and throughout North Africa.
As a reminder, the regional implementation contract for the tourism roadmap in the Fez-Meknes region includes about 15 major projects, including entertainment initiatives, accommodation projects, as well as a marketing and air travel plan dedicated to the region.
