An Earthquake Hits the Village of Aba Mohammed in Taounate

Multiple local sources reported that the residents of the village of Aba Mohammed and the municipality of Al Wartazagh in the Guefafsa area of Taounate, especially those living in the municipality of Ajbabra, felt a slight earthquake that struck their area late on Sunday night.

According to local sources, the residents felt a slight tremor that did not cause any material or human damage.

European earthquake monitoring centers confirmed the occurrence of the earthquake, with the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) and the Spanish National Geographic Institute (IGN) indicating that the epicenter of the tremor was located on the outskirts of the village of Aba Mohammed.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) also reported the earthquake, which occurred at 12:03 AM, registering a magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale and occurring at a depth of 2.2 kilometers.
