Getting Ready for the Big Event
These days, the city of Meknes is bustling with activity as preparations are in full swing for the 16th edition of the International Agricultural Fair. This year’s theme is “Climate and Agriculture for Sustainable and Resilient Production Systems,” with Spain as the guest of honor. The exhibition will cover an area of up to 12 hectares and will feature around 1500 exhibitors from 70 countries, expecting to welcome over 950,000 visitors.
City Preparations
To ensure that Meknes is ready for this important economic event, local authorities are working hard to meet the deadline for the opening of the International Agricultural Forum. They have taken various regulatory measures and necessary arrangements to enhance the city’s beauty and make it worthy of hosting the event. Over the past 15 editions, Meknes has proven itself as an international agricultural capital, showcasing its excellence in organizing the largest agricultural gathering in Africa.
Ministerial Visit
Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, along with other officials, recently visited the city to inspect the exhibition spaces that will host the 16th edition of the International Agricultural Fair. The event is scheduled to take place from April 22 to 28.
Final Preparations
Minister Sadiki expressed confidence in the ongoing preparations for the fair, which is being organized under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI. The theme of climate and agriculture for sustainable and resilient production systems has attracted significant participation from industry stakeholders. The fair has become a key event on the national, continental, and international agricultural calendar, playing a vital role in promoting and attracting interest in the agricultural sector.
Technological Advancements
Kamal Hidan, acting delegate of the fair, highlighted the rapid progress and development in the preparations for the exhibition. This year’s edition will feature a new focus on “Digital Agriculture,” emphasizing the role of digital technology in enhancing agricultural efficiency and flexibility. The fair will also expand its range of agricultural products and introduce electronic ticketing.
