Youth Initiative Revives Mosque in Fes, Strengthening Community Bonds

In a meaningful gesture of community service, a group of students from the Higher School of Technology in Fes, in collaboration with a local association, organized a workshop to renovate a mosque in the city. This initiative, which took place during the month of Rajab, carries symbolic significance, reflecting the values of generosity and goodness that are deeply rooted in Moroccan society.

The Imam of the mosque expressed his gratitude for the project, stating, “The mosque had been in a state of disrepair for years and was nearly forgotten. Thanks to the efforts of these young people and the association, the mosque is now a place worthy of the worshippers. Carpets were provided, walls were painted, and lighting was improved, restoring the mosque’s dignity and beauty.”

The President of the Students’ Association at the Higher School of Technology in Fes emphasized the importance of the initiative, saying, “The goal was not just to improve the mosque’s appearance but also to raise awareness among students about their social responsibility. The provision of carpets, painting of walls, and the enhancement of ablution facilities were all part of our efforts to restore the mosque to its best condition.”

Yassine Maalal, a graduate of the Higher School of Technology, praised the experience, saying, “This initiative was a valuable opportunity to learn and volunteer. Seeing motivated young people working to bring about positive change has given us great hope for the continued spirit of cooperation and solidarity in our community.”

This initiative serves as a live example of what can be achieved when the efforts of youth, institutions, and associations come together to serve the community and revive the spirit of volunteering.
