Displaying the Largest Map of Morocco in Fez: From the Green March to the Development March

The historic Bab Boujloud square in Fez vibrated, Saturday evening, with the display of the largest map of Morocco under the slogan “From the Green March to the Development March”.

The event was organized by the “Initiative Association for Strengthening the Foundations of the Social State”, and was distinguished by displaying a massive map of Morocco spanning 50 meters in length and 35 meters in width, with the Moroccan national anthem at its center.

The ceremony included excerpts from historical speeches, comprising a segment from the late King Hassan II’s speech on the occasion of the Green March, and another from King Mohammed VI’s speech commemorating the Green March anniversary.

The association’s president, Fadoua Dadoune, confirmed that this display represents an exceptional event celebrating two significant moments in Morocco’s history: independence and the Green March. She emphasized that the initiative affirms Moroccans’ unity around their homeland.

For his part, artist and exhibition director Driss Roukh stated that the event highlights national cohesion and Moroccans’ pride in the memories of the Green March and the independence epic, stressing the necessity of moving forward in the development path under the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI.

This initiative came within the activities of the First Forum in Fez, which was launched mid-November under the slogan “Fez Charter for General Mobilization for Territorial Integrity”, and was interspersed with musical and singing performances celebrating the Green March.
