Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, inaugurated five new healthcare centers in the Oued Ed-Dahab province on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in a move aimed at strengthening healthcare services in the region.
The Minister presided over the inauguration ceremony at the “Al Salam” Urban Health Center, accompanied by the Wali of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region and Governor of Oued Ed-Dahab province, Ali Khalil, along with local elected officials. The new facilities include two level-two urban health centers (“Al Salam” and “Bir Anzarane”), two level-one urban centers (“Al Massira” and “Moulay Rachid”), and one level-one rural center in the “Al Argoub” area.
The launch of these centers comes as part of implementing royal directives to reform the national healthcare system and support the universal social protection and healthcare coverage project. The new centers will serve approximately 59,000 residents, offering a diverse range of medical services including general consultations and examinations, nursing care, chronic disease monitoring such as diabetes and hypertension, as well as maternal and child health services, dental care, and school health services.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection confirmed that these centers have been equipped with advanced medical equipment and staffed with qualified medical and nursing personnel to ensure high-quality healthcare services for citizens. These facilities will also contribute to improving access to healthcare services and their quality, reinforcing the ministry’s proximity policy as part of its strategy to develop the kingdom’s health sector.
