In a crucial move to resolve the ongoing leadership dispute that has preoccupied the Wydad Athletic Club of Fez (“WAF”), the Governor of the Fez-Meknes Region has played a pivotal role in bridging differences and uniting efforts to benefit the club.
This official intervention aimed to end the discord threatening the stability of the club, as the Governor summoned all relevant parties to a special meeting in his office to discuss ways to achieve a unified vision that promotes stability and progress for “WAF,” a key sports institution in the city.
During today’s meeting on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, a unified proposal was presented, outlining a future vision to strengthen the club’s position and ensure its advancement.
After extensive discussion, it was agreed that Mr. Khalid Al-Ajli would assume the club’s presidency, supported by a cohesive and dynamic managing board committed to executing a strategic vision that aligns with the club’s goals.
The newly proposed board is set to be ratified at an upcoming general assembly, attended by legally registered members to ensure transparency and adherence to governing laws. This move renders the previous assembly, which elected Mr. Mehdi Al-Azouzi, effectively null and void.
This consensus comes at a crucial time for “WAF,” with fans and supporters hopeful that this decision marks the beginning of a new era, elevating the club’s performance, restoring its prominence, and fostering unity and dedication among club members and its loyal fan base.
