Al Alam City is suffering from a serious crisis represented in the accumulation of waste and foul odors that control the most important residential neighborhoods in the city. Residents of these neighborhoods complain about the lack of the necessary containers for waste disposal, which has been going on for months.
One of the residents of the “Akram Allah Wajhakum” neighborhood said, “We have a major problem with the accumulation of waste in our neighborhood, and we have filed numerous complaints to no avail.” He added, “The foul odors have become overwhelmingly disturbing in the area.”
As for the “Al Salam Ain Qadous” neighborhood, one of the residents confirmed that they “filed a complaint to the city department some time ago, but the problem has not been dealt with until now, despite the passage of about ten years since its exacerbation.”
Many of the city’s residents expressed their discontent with the lack of any responsible party to address this escalating crisis, which has become negatively affecting the health and safety of citizens.
Local activists and civil associations called for the intervention of the competent authorities to put an end to this serious problem, which has become threatening the quality of life in the most prominent neighborhoods of Al Alam City.
