Agriculture Minister Leads Political Consultations to Regain Meknes Municipal Presidency

MEKNES – Informed sources revealed that Ahmed Bouari, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, Maritime Fishing, Water, and Forests, held a political meeting in Meknes during his visit to the city on the occasion of the agricultural season launch.

According to sources, the minister, a leading figure in the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party, participated in a special meeting held at the residence of a local party coordination member, aimed at building a political alliance to support Samira Al-Qassiour’s candidacy for the presidency of the Meknes municipality. This comes following the dismissal of former president Jawad Bahji during the October session.

The meeting was attended by the party’s regional coordinator and members of the provincial coordination, alongside councilors representing various parties participating in the municipal council, including the Istiqlal Party, Justice and Development Party, Authenticity and Modernity Party, and the Socialist Union. The meeting also included councilors who had defected from some parties supporting the rival Constitutional Union candidate.

These moves come as part of the RNI party’s efforts to regain the presidency of the Meknes Municipal Council, following recent changes in the council’s leadership.
