In a Somber Atmosphere, the Moroccan People’s University Prepares to Bid Farewell to the Late Wiam Shafik

The Moroccan People’s University (Université Populaire du Maroc – UPM) is preparing to bid a sorrowful farewell to one of its brightest pioneers, the late Wiam Shafik, who passed away in France.

Her body is set to arrive at Fes Airport on Saturday, October 19, with the burial ceremony scheduled for Sunday, October 20, at noon in the Jawame’a Cemetery on Ain Cheggag Road.

Wi’am Shafik was a symbol of excellence, both as a distinguished student and a young leader who left a lasting impact at the Moroccan People’s University.

In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, she was also an artist, contributing her talent to enrich the cultural life of her community.

She will be remembered by all as an ambitious, creative, and dedicated young woman who served her society with passion.

The president of the Moroccan People’s University, Professor Mustapha El Merizak, has called on all faculty members, students, and supervisors to attend and participate in the farewell ceremony.

He expressed his deep sadness and grief at the loss of such a brilliant figure as Wiam Shafik.
