In the context of resuming social dialogue in the health sector, the National Union Coordination held a meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The meeting was chaired by the Ministry’s Director of Human Resources and was dedicated to discussing developments in the health system and the health sector reform project.
The Ministry presented a detailed report with figures and statistics on the administrative and technical situation of health sector employees. The discussion concluded with the need to finalize the settlement of all employees’ situations related to promotions of all categories, various compensations, and transfers before the territorial health groups begin their operations.
The meeting also discussed the progress in developing initial drafts of regulatory texts prepared by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. It was agreed to discuss these drafts as soon as possible.
On another note, the National Union Coordination strongly condemned the repression, arrests, and violent intervention carried out by public forces against medical and pharmacy students who were exercising their right to protest and peaceful demonstration. The Coordination called on the government to release the detained students and adopt dialogue and negotiation to resolve this conflict.
The National Union Coordination affirmed that during the upcoming meeting on October 1 and 2, 2024, it will work on the proper implementation and execution of all clauses of the sectoral agreement signed with the government.
