Moroccan National Women’s Football League to Begin on September 21

The Executive Committee of the National Women’s Football League (LNFF) decided in its meeting on Thursday to set September 21 as the start date for the national professional championship for both first and second divisions.

According to a statement published on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s website, the meeting was chaired by Khadija Illa, president of the National Women’s Football League. Several points were discussed, notably the possibility of registering four foreign players, with the option to include three of them in the referee’s sheet during matches of the first and second divisions for the 2024-2025 sports season.

The Executive Committee also set September 2 as the date for the draw of the national professional women’s football championship and the U17 national championship (2024-2025 season), as well as the preliminary rounds of the 2023-2024 Throne Cup.

The first round of the Throne Cup qualifiers will take place on October 26. The Executive Committee also discussed the general provisions for organizing the national senior women’s football championship and the U17 national championship.

These provisions include, among other things, holding the general assemblies of D1 and D2 clubs before August 31, 2024, validating the distribution of clubs competing in the D2 national professional championship (North and South groups) and the U17 championship, in addition to reducing the maximum number of qualified players.
