Fes News has learned from a well-informed source that an important meeting was held on Friday, April 4th, in the city of Meknes. The meeting focused on accelerating the progress of the Grand Stadium project in the city, under the personal supervision of the Provincial Governor and with direct support from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
According to information received by the newspaper, the Grand Stadium will be built on a total area of 20 hectares, with 8 hectares allocated for the establishment of a sports academy. These facilities are planned to be constructed on land belonging to the Ait Oualal municipality.
As a procedural step to facilitate the project’s implementation, it was agreed that the Meknes municipality will lease the concerned land. This solution aims to overcome obstacles related to the financing of the land acquisition and to speed up construction in the upcoming phases.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the decision to form a technical field committee in the coming days. This committee will include real estate and topography experts, as well as representatives from local authorities, to carry out a precise identification of the land in preparation for launching the necessary technical and engineering studies.
The project is personally followed by the Provincial Governor, who is committed to overcoming administrative and technical challenges to ensure swift and effective execution. Meanwhile, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, expressed his strong commitment to completing the project as soon as possible, in line with national standards and in a way that meets the aspirations of the local population and the sports community in Meknes.
Fes News continues to closely follow the developments of this strategic initiative, which is expected to mark a turning point in the sports infrastructure of the region.
