Fes News has learned from an informed source that during a meeting of the Regional Committee for Human Development held at the end of last month, 73 projects were approved under the third phase of the National Human Development Initiative in Taounate Province. The total cost of these projects is approximately 43 million MAD for the year 2025.
The approved projects are distributed across four main programs, focusing on addressing infrastructure gaps, supporting vulnerable groups, improving youth income and economic integration, and enhancing human capital for future generations. Specifically, 20 projects under the first program, aimed at infrastructure development, were approved with a budget of about 11 million MAD. These projects include building roads to connect educational institutions and social care centers, as well as expanding the drinking water network to supply several rural areas with this essential resource.
According to the same source, 1 million MAD has been allocated to support two projects under the second program, which focuses on assisting vulnerable individuals, while the same amount has been allocated for one project under the program for improving youth income and economic integration. Under the program for promoting human capital for future generations, 50 projects were approved with a total cost of approximately 30 million MAD, covering initiatives such as supporting student homes, providing school transportation, and renewing agreements with consultancy firms to foster youth entrepreneurship.
Additionally, a partnership agreement was renewed with the consultancy office responsible for supporting project holders, as part of efforts to strengthen entrepreneurship and create new opportunities for youth through support for their economic and social projects.
In his speech on the occasion, Mr. Saleh Daha, the provincial governor, emphasized the importance of these projects in improving the living standards of citizens in the region. He pointed out that these projects align with the strategic goals of the third phase of the National Human Development Initiative, which aims to build on past achievements and develop new programs that contribute to human capital development and sustainable growth in the province. He also called for intensified efforts to implement the projects within the specified timeframes while adhering to the legal procedures to ensure full benefit for the targeted communities.
These projects are designed to improve infrastructure, support education and health, and increase job opportunities, reflecting the local authorities’ commitment to promoting comprehensive development and achieving tangible improvements in the quality of life for the residents of Taounate Province.
