Reports of Attempted Assassination of Tebboune Following Orders to Inspect Shengrilha’s Plane Carrying Huge Amounts of Dollars!

Consistent reports from diplomatic and media sources indicate a state of high alert within the Algerian regime, following what is said to be an assassination attempt targeting President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, after issuing instructions to inspect a private plane suspected of carrying a suspicious cargo.

According to the same reports, the aforementioned plane was loaded with huge sums of US dollars, and it was later revealed to belong to entities close to the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Said Shengrilha. This development caused shock within the military establishment, especially since the inspection order came suddenly and with direct instructions from Tebboune, without going through the usual official channels.

Leaks indicate that this sudden move sparked intense anger within the senior leadership, and created a state of acute tension, which was exacerbated after the circulation of hypotheses that the inspection operation may have been behind the attempt to assassinate the president.

According to unconfirmed data, a closed security meeting was held urgently immediately after the incident, and witnessed intense tension between those close to Tebboune and Shengrilha, where serious accusations were exchanged about the suspicion of leaking the instructions from within the presidential guard.

The same sources reported that these developments come amid the shaking of the relationship between the wings of power, and the growing power struggle between the presidency and the army leadership, which reinforces the hypothesis of internal score-settling.

Pending official confirmation or denial from the Algerian authorities, these reports remain a subject of widespread controversy, amid the ambiguity that characterizes the political scene in Algeria, especially after the increasing talk about rearranging decision-making centers in the power pyramid.
