The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, affirmed on Tuesday in Madrid that Morocco and Spain have established in the past three years “the best climate of cooperation ever achieved” in the history of their bilateral relations.
Albares emphasized before the Senate that the Joint Declaration adopted in April 2022, at the conclusion of the talks between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, has established “the best climate of cooperation and collaboration ever achieved” in the history of the relations between the two countries.
In this regard, the head of Spanish diplomacy noted that trade exchanges with Morocco have reached a historic level, approaching 25 billion euros, thus confirming the strength and complementarity of the economic and trade relations between the two kingdoms.
He pointed out that more than 15,000 Spanish companies regularly export to Morocco, and 660 others are established on Moroccan territory, which testifies to the confidence and attractiveness of the Moroccan economic environment.
Regarding the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal, Albares stated that this global event constitutes a historic opportunity to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and strategic partnership between Rabat and Madrid.
On the other hand, the minister praised the effective cooperation with Morocco in the field of migration, noting that the management of irregular migration would be “unmanageable” without the support and commitment of the Kingdom of Morocco.
