Strategic Partnership Strengthens Moroccan Swimming … Study Seminar in Fes

The newspaper Fes News covered the study seminar held last Saturday, featuring the Fes-Meknes Regional Swimming League and the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Swimming League. This strategic partnership aims to enhance swimmers’ performance while raising awareness of the importance of proper nutrition and parental involvement in their children’s athletic journey.

The event, hosted in Fes, saw a strong turnout of coaches, sports officials, and parents, focusing on two key topics: the role of nutrition in boosting swimmers’ performance and the crucial support parents provide in helping young athletes achieve success.

Youssef El Houat, President of the Fes-Meknes Regional Swimming League, emphasized that this seminar was a product of the partnership agreement between the two leagues. He highlighted the significance of engaging parents in the sports process, as they are key partners in supporting their children’s ambitions. He also stressed the need to equip parents with essential information to ensure effective communication with sports associations, thereby enhancing their contribution to their children’s athletic careers.

El Houat further noted that this seminar marks the first event under this partnership, with more activities planned in the near future. He also pointed out the exchange of referees between the two regions, as officials from Fes-Meknes have participated in competitions in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and vice versa. This exchange strengthens cooperation and benefits swimming at the national level.

Hassan Ersili, President of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Swimming League, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the event in Fes, stating that the collaboration between the two leagues is strong and fosters further joint projects. He also mentioned plans to extend this initiative to other cities such as Oujda, Meknes, Kenitra, Rabat, and Tangier to promote swimming on a larger scale.

Ersili underscored the importance of educating parents on their role in supporting young swimmers, hoping that these efforts will positively impact national swimming standards. He called on sports associations and coaches to join this pioneering project, which is the first of its kind in Morocco, bringing together two regional leagues in a cooperative effort.

One of the attending mothers from Meknes expressed her appreciation for the seminar, considering it a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and gain insights on how best to support young swimmers. She emphasized that such events help parents better understand the importance of structuring young athletes’ schedules, including training and competitions.

The seminar concluded with organizers reaffirming the importance of continuing such initiatives to advance Moroccan swimming. They stressed the need for sustained collaboration between regional leagues and unified efforts to create an ideal sports environment for young swimmers, with parents playing a vital role in achieving these goals.
