In a significant security operation, the Royal Gendarmerie in Ain Aisha, within the Taounate region, successfully seized a large quantity of drugs hidden inside a commercial vehicle, as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking.
According to initial reports, the operation, carried out in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) in Taounate, led to the arrest of a young man in his twenties who was driving the vehicle. A thorough search revealed that the vehicle contained more than 30 kilograms of hashish, along with a quantity of cocaine and a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking.
This operation is part of the Royal Gendarmerie’s continuous efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks in the region, which is considered one of the key hotspots for such activities.
The suspect has been placed under provisional detention following the public prosecutor’s instructions, pending further investigations to identify the other individuals involved in the case.
