Meknes: After the Success of the Food Industry Innovation Competition… Promising Projects Await the International Agriculture Exhibition Next Month

As part of ongoing efforts to promote innovation in the food industry sector, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests, in collaboration with “Agrinova,” the first agricultural competitiveness cluster, organized the first edition of the Innovation Competition in Food Industries, recently held at the Food Technology Department in Meknes.

According to information obtained by Fes News, the event saw active participation from young entrepreneurs and startups, who presented innovative technological solutions aimed at advancing the development of local food industries. The competition focused on three main areas: fruits and vegetables, grains and legumes, and animal products, where participants showcased their projects, marking a new step toward improving products and developing production techniques in these vital sectors.

The winning projects were honored with valuable prizes, including technical and technological support, along with the opportunity to access the Food Technology Hall in Meknes. This hall represents an advanced center that accelerates the development of innovative products and provides a suitable environment for marketing them both locally and internationally.

Additionally, the three winning projects will have the chance to participate in the “International Agriculture Exhibition” (SIAM), to be held next April in Meknes. This will provide them with an opportunity to showcase their products to a wide audience of stakeholders and investors in the agricultural and food sectors.

Through this initiative, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests aims to highlight the importance of local innovation and enhance the role of startups in advancing food industries. This event is seen as a strategic step toward achieving sustainable development in this vital sector, contributing to Morocco’s ability to keep up with global developments in the food industry.
