High-level security coordination leads to the arrest of a French-Algerian national wanted internationally for involvement in a drug trafficking network and attempted murder

In close coordination with the services of the General Directorate of National Surveillance, police officers at the Marrakech Security Directorate (DSM) arrested on Monday evening a 27-year-old French citizen of Algerian origin, who was the subject of an international search warrant issued by the French judicial authorities.

The arrest came after the suspect was entered into the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), where he was found to be internationally wanted under a red notice issued by the French authorities, for his possible involvement in serious criminal activities, including drug trafficking as part of a criminal network and attempted murder.

According to security sources, the detainee was taken into custody as part of the extradition process, in parallel with the notification of the French security authorities of this arrest, in preparation for the completion of the legal procedures for his extradition.

This arrest comes in the context of international security cooperation to combat organized and cross-border crime, and is part of the ongoing efforts made by the Moroccan security services to track down internationally wanted individuals and ensure compliance with international commitments in the fight against crime.
