New Regional Bureau of the Educational Administrators’ Union Established in Fes-Meknes

On Sunday, December 29, 2024, the Fes City Council hosted an important conference where the new regional office of the Educational Administrators’ Union for the Fes-Meknes region was elected, with the presence of several educational administrators and union officials. During this prominent event, Mohamed Daghmi, an educational administrator, delivered a poignant speech addressing various critical issues related to the role of educational administrators in strengthening educational reform at both the regional and national levels.

Daghmi described the conference as a “new milestone in the struggle,” marking an important step in the union’s journey with the establishment of the first regional office of the Educational Administrators’ Union in the Fes-Meknes region. He stated that the purpose of this office is to strengthen the union scene in the region and work on advancing public education, emphasizing that this union is not just an administrative body, but rather a “propositional, reformist, and educational force” aiming to improve the educational reality in the country.

He pointed out that the educational administrator is the “final link” in the implementation of reform programs, stressing that it is time to listen to them and engage with their proposals before demanding their rights. Daghmi highlighted that the work carried out by educational administrators is not voluntary, but an essential part of the reform process, as they are responsible for implementing public policies within educational institutions and directly influencing the improvement of the educational system.

In another context, Daghmi called for a comprehensive evaluation of the educational administration track, emphasizing the need to recognize the esteemed status of this track, which has played a significant role in the reforms undertaken in Moroccan educational institutions. He mentioned that educational administrators have been instrumental in the implementation of many reform programs and have contributed to improving the educational system, despite the challenges they face.

He further explained that educational administrators have been a part of the process of supporting and developing education in Morocco, making significant efforts during summer vacations to improve the infrastructure of educational institutions. He added that the relationship between educational administration and teaching staff was crucial to the success of educational support efforts, which helped improve performance within schools.

Daghmi affirmed that the union is calling for more independence and rights for educational administrators, noting that the union’s statutes should include provisions guaranteeing them a more prominent role within educational institutions. He urged the relevant ministry to support educational administrators and grant them greater freedom to intervene in educational affairs for the benefit of the educational process.

In conclusion, Daghmi emphasized that the message of this conference is clear, calling for cooperation and solidarity to improve the educational situation in the region and the country as a whole.
