Kuwait – The Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) concluded its 45th session in Kuwait by reaffirming its steadfast position supporting the Kingdom of Morocco, emphasizing its full backing of Morocco’s territorial integrity.
In its final statement, the Council reiterated its firm stance on the Western Sahara issue, expressing complete support for Moroccan sovereignty over its southern territories. The Council also welcomed UN Security Council Resolution 2756 issued on October 31, 2024, which reinforces the Moroccan position in the regional conflict.
The statement stressed the importance of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity, with a specific focus on supporting Morocco. The Council highlighted the significance of the distinctive strategic partnership between the GCC countries and the Kingdom of Morocco, emphasizing the necessity of implementing the joint action plan.
During the summit, the Supreme Council discussed numerous cooperation issues among Gulf states, both politically and economically. They also deliberated on ways to enhance joint Gulf collaboration and current regional developments.
These recommendations reflect the strong relations between the GCC countries and Morocco, and confirm continued support for the kingdom in its national cause concerning the Sahara.
