Signing of Moroccan-French Agreements and Launch of Justice Enhancement Program

The Moroccan capital, Rabat, witnessed this evening, Monday, October 28, the signing ceremony of several agreements between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, presided over by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron.

In a related context, Moroccan Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Wahbi, confirmed that the judicial partnership between Morocco, the European Union, and the Council of Europe has been strengthened thanks to the judicial reforms launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which aim to enhance the rule of law and protect rights and freedoms.

During the launch of the trilateral program (MA-JUST), the Minister announced that this initiative aims to achieve efficient and transparent justice, which will contribute to enhancing social and economic stability and attracting investments.

The new program, jointly funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, focuses on several main axes including:

  • Modernizing judicial infrastructure
  • Expanding digital services
  • Strengthening mechanisms for international cooperation in the field of justice
  • Improving court performance and quality of judicial processes
  • Enhancing citizens’ trust in the judicial system

Sessions and roundtables will be organized over two days to discuss key topics such as quality of justice, management of judicial time, cyberjustice, and artificial intelligence, focusing on current challenges facing the Moroccan judicial system.
