In a significant step to strengthen territorial and central administration in the Kingdom of Morocco, His Majesty King Mohammed VI received today, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, a new group of newly appointed Walis (regional governors) and governors.
The new appointments included four regional Walis, with Mr. Mouad El Jamai appointed as Wali of the Fez-Meknes region, Mr. Khatib El Hebil as Wali of the Oriental region, Mr. Said Zniber as Wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, and Mr. Mohammed Benribag as Wali of the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region. Additionally, Mr. Jelloul Samssam was appointed as Wali and Director General of Territorial Communities in the central administration.
The appointments also included 23 new governors distributed across various provinces and prefectures of the Kingdom, along with the appointment of Mr. Hassan Mezghama as governor and Director of Rural Affairs in the central administration.
All new officials took their oath before His Majesty the King, in the presence of Minister of Interior Mr. Abdelouafi Laftit and the Royal Chamberlain Sidi Mohammed Alaoui.
These appointments come as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to enhance territorial governance and improve the performance of local and central administration, serving the higher interests of the nation and its citizens.
