In a move reflecting the vigilance and efficiency of Morocco’s Royal Gendarmerie, the territorial unit in Sidi Harazem successfully foiled a major drug trafficking attempt on October 15, 2024.
The operation targeted a shipment of drugs coming from the Ketama mountains en route to the city of Fes.
During a routine security checkpoint, the Gendarmerie officers noticed a suspicious vehicle. Thanks to their expertise and professionalism, they stopped the vehicle and conducted a thorough search, which uncovered a large quantity of drugs carefully hidden inside.
Upon interrogating the driver and his companion, it was revealed that they were part of a sophisticated drug trafficking network.
This successful operation dealt a significant blow to criminals who aim to target the youth and society with illegal substances.
