PAM Justifies Suspension of Abou El Ghaly’s Membership, Affirms Commitment to Code of Ethics

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the Political Bureau of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) held its regular meeting at the party’s headquarters in Rabat, where several political and organizational issues were discussed. A key topic was the decision to suspend the membership of Mr. Salah Eddine Abou El Ghaly, a member of the Political Bureau and the party’s collective leadership.

According to an official statement received by “Fes News,” the suspension was based on complaints related to violations of the party’s Code of Ethics and internal regulations, which are not related to public funds. The statement noted that this measure followed unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issues internally over a four-month period.

In a press conference following the meeting, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, a member of the party’s General Secretariat, stated, “Since the approval of the Code of Ethics, we have all committed to applying it to all members without exception.

Regarding Mr. Abou El Ghaly’s case, the party has adhered to the established procedures and referred the matter to the Ethics Committee for resolution.”

This decision, as outlined in the meeting, aligns with PAM’s efforts to moralize political life, responding to royal speeches that called for enhancing integrity and transparency in party activities.
