Foreign Ministers of Morocco and Egypt Hold Bilateral Meeting to Strengthen Relations and Coordinate Positions

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held in-depth bilateral talks on Tuesday in Cairo with his Egyptian counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Badr Abdel Ati.

During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, in line with the directives of Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Both sides emphasized the importance of reinforcing the strong fraternal ties that bind the leaders and peoples of the two brotherly countries, as well as their ongoing mutual solidarity, shared destiny, and common goals.

The ministers agreed to enhance coordination and consultation between the foreign ministries of both countries by holding the fourth session of the Political and Strategic Dialogue, Coordination, and Consultation Mechanism as soon as possible. They also agreed to intensify the exchange of visits between officials of the two countries, aiming to give new impetus to cooperation relations between Morocco and Egypt.

During the talks, the ministers exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest in the Arab, continental, and international arenas.

This meeting comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to consolidate bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and to enhance coordination between them in facing regional and international challenges. These discussions are expected to contribute to opening new horizons for cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
