Ifrane – The Provincial Tourism Council (CPT) of Ifrane revealed on Friday the main outlines of the province’s tourism development strategy. This announcement came during a meeting organized on the sidelines of the Ifrane International Festival, where the opportunities offered by the selection of this city as a “world” site for the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup in Morocco were highlighted.
The selection of Ifrane to host 2030 World Cup activities confirms its reputation as a preferred destination for high-level athletes. The city will host some activities related to this global event, particularly training camps for various participating teams. This exceptional opportunity will allow Ifrane to significantly strengthen its position on the international sports tourism scene.
In a statement to the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP), Omar Jaïd, President of the Ifrane CPT, emphasized the importance of the plan developed to create a contractual, coordinating, and participatory framework with various actors at national, regional, and provincial levels. He explained, “Our goal is to conclude cooperation agreements aimed at obtaining and allocating the necessary support to help us fulfill our missions and implement our work program.”
Jaïd detailed the five main themes that structure this ambitious program, including the promotion and marketing of Ifrane’s tourism product, which includes publication, digitization, public relations, participation in tourism fairs, and advertising campaigns targeting domestic tourism. The program also includes organizing tourism, artistic, and cultural events to animate the destination throughout the year.
The council is also betting on human capital development through continuous training for professionals in the sector, establishing partnerships for scientific and professional cooperation to promote skills transfer, as well as organizing periodic thematic meetings to maintain a dynamic of reflection and innovation.
The CPT president also highlighted the exceptional natural and cultural assets of the Ifrane province, stating, “We have a forest area of 116,000 hectares, including 48,000 hectares of cedar forest classified as national natural heritage. Our remarkable biodiversity, water resources, and high-quality infrastructure make Ifrane an ideal gateway to national parks and a high-level tourist reception area.
