Widespread International Condemnation of Israeli Strike on Gaza School

Following an Israeli airstrike on a school in Gaza City that resulted in at least 93 deaths, the world has witnessed a wave of international condemnations. The Israeli military claimed that the school was being used as a command center for Hamas “terrorists.”

Qatar, which acts as a mediator between Israel and Hamas, called for an “urgent international investigation” into the incident. The European Union, through foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, demanded an end to the “unjustifiable massacres.”

France condemned the attack “in the strongest terms,” reminding Israel of the need to respect international humanitarian law. Britain expressed its “horror” at the strike, calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Russia described the incident as “shocking,” noting that such attacks have become systematic. Turkey accused Israel of committing “a new crime against humanity.”

The UN Special Rapporteur for the Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, accused Israel of committing “genocide” against Palestinians.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah party also condemned the attack, stating that talk of a ceasefire is “nothing but lies and deception.” Gulf countries, including Kuwait and Oman, joined the wave of condemnations, describing the attack as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

Amidst these widespread condemnations, international pressure is mounting on Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza and protect civilians.

The World Health Organization chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, expressed his shock, questioning how many more women and children would lose their lives before a ceasefire is implemented.

Various countries and international bodies emphasized the need for Israel to comply with international law and called for an immediate end to the targeting of civilian infrastructure, including schools and shelters for displaced persons.

As the death toll continues to rise and the humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorates, the international community appears increasingly united in its call for an end to the violence and the protection of civilian lives.
