Dr. Ronny Jackson, the former physician of Republican candidate Donald Trump, said on Friday that there is no evidence that anything other than a bullet caused the former president to be shot in the ear during the recent assassination attempt.
The remarks come after Trump criticized FBI Director Christopher Wray, who told US lawmakers that the investigation has yet to determine whether the injury was caused by a bullet or some other source.
Although nearly two weeks have passed since the assassination attempt, there has been no official report from the Trump campaign stating definitively that the injury was caused by a bullet, raising many questions and doubts about the cause of the wound.
In contrast, the New York Times revealed through its analysis of bullet trajectories and footage that Trump was hit by one of the eight bullets fired by gunman Thomas Crooks, while the other bullets hit two attendees at the Pennsylvania rally and caused the death of a third person.
Trump was the target of an assassination attempt on July 13 while giving a speech at the rally, where he was seen bleeding from his ear while raising his fist in a victory sign.
So far, the motive behind the attempted assassination of Trump by the 20-year-old Crooks remains unknown.
