In the Jebel Chouin area in the Abouyaadhen and Afrzaz districts of the Bourd community in the Aknoul district of the Taza region, a forest fire continues to be extinguished with intensive efforts by firefighting teams in cooperation with significant military support, according to preliminary information available.
According to preliminary data available, several local authorities are participating in these efforts under the supervision of the governor of Taza region, including civil protection, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Royal Armed Forces, the Auxiliary Forces, water and forestry elements, in addition to local authorities and volunteers from the local population.
The fire spread from the forest of the Abouyaadhen roundabout to the Afrzaz roundabout, prompting increased efforts to contain its spread and protect the rich forests and precious natural resources in the area.
The area affected by the fire exceeded tens of hectares of forest cover, the fire started last Wednesday evening and the firefighting efforts are still ongoing to control it and prevent its spread, and the causes of this catastrophic fire remain unknown and are currently being investigated.
