The Regional Education Directorate of Meknes, in collaboration with the Regional Academy for Education and Training of Fez-Meknes, organized a workshop on Thursday, July 18, 2024, focusing on the implementation of Structural Program No. 13 related to inclusive schools. The workshop was held in the meeting hall of Riad Middle School.
The event opened with welcoming speeches from prominent officials, including representatives from the Regional Academy, the Ministry of National Education, the Regional Director of Meknes, and the head of the Inclusive Education Department at the Curriculum Directorate. The speeches emphasized the importance of inclusive education and cooperation among various stakeholders.
The regional coordinator of the program presented a comprehensive overview of the program’s implementation in Meknes, showcasing statistics and educational indicators for inclusive education in the directorate. A video was also shown demonstrating activities carried out in resource rooms for rehabilitation and support.
The workshop included a presentation on the roles and responsibilities of reference teachers, as well as an introduction to the documentary and management tools for resource rooms, developed by the educational team for inclusive education in the Meknes directorate.
The meeting was distinguished by live testimonials from various concerned parties, including an educational inspector, a principal of an inclusive school, the president of an association concerned with rehabilitating persons with disabilities, and a representative from a parents’ association.
This workshop is part of the implementation of the 2022-2026 roadmap objectives, aiming to enhance efforts to integrate students with special needs into the general education system and improve the quality of services provided to them.
The event highlights the ongoing efforts in Morocco to create a more inclusive educational environment, bringing together various stakeholders to share experiences and strategies for effective implementation of inclusive education programs.
