An employee of a cleaning company in Fez: An elected official delayed the collection of Eid waste to serve corrupt personal and political agendas
Fez – In a controversial statement, an employee of a cleaning company in Fez reported that an elected official caused delays in the collection of Eid al-Adha waste, which negatively affected the cleanliness of the city during this period. According to the user, the official was directing workers to change the work plan in line with his personal desires and corrupt political agendas.
The user, who preferred to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals, told FasNews: “We were informed of a directive from an elected official to repeatedly modify the waste collection plan to suit his own interests. This led to significant delays in cleaning operations and the accumulation of waste in several areas of the city.”
He added: “Priorities were given to some neighborhoods inhabited by his supporters or those that had political support, while other neighborhoods suffering from the accumulation of waste and refuse were neglected. This situation created a state of chaos and resentment among citizens.”
The statements come at a sensitive time for the city, as pressure is mounting on cleaning companies to ensure a clean and hygienic environment, especially during the holiday period, which witnesses a significant increase in the volume of waste. The accusations also raise questions about the integrity and transparency of the authorities responsible for managing the city’s cleaning services.
Many Fes residents expressed their dismay at the situation to Qass News, calling for an urgent and comprehensive investigation to uncover the circumstances of this case and hold the officials involved accountable. One resident said: “It is unacceptable that public sanitation services are exploited to achieve personal or political interests. “There must be strict oversight to ensure that such behavior is not repeated.”
For their part, the local authorities or officials concerned have yet to issue any official statement to respond to these accusations, adding to the uncertainty and anxiety among the city’s residents. Citizens hope that immediate action will be taken to address this situation and ensure that sanitation services are provided fairly and efficiently to all neighborhoods without discrimination.
This case exemplifies the ongoing challenges faced by the city of Fez in managing its public services, and emphasizes the urgent need to promote transparency and accountability in various sectors to ensure the provision of the best services to citizens and the protection of the public interest.
