Morocco and Palestine Sign MoU to Boost Industrial Cooperation

Rabat, Morocco – June 5, 2024 – The Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Palestine today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening industrial cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The MoU was signed in Rabat by Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade of Morocco, and Mr. Arafat Hussein Suleiman Asfour Abusnina, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion of Palestine.

The MoU aims to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of industry, including:

  • Exchange of expertise and experiences in various industrial fields.
  • Encouraging mutual industrial investment between the two countries.
  • Organizing joint industrial exhibitions and conferences.
  • Strengthening cooperation in the field of industrial research and development.
  • Mutual recognition of conformity certificates, quality marks, and “Halal” labels.

This MoU is an important step towards developing economic and trade relations between Morocco and Palestine and boosting industrial development in the two countries.

In a statement on the occasion, Mr. Mezzour stressed the importance of this MoU in deepening industrial cooperation and strengthening trade between Morocco and Palestine, noting that it will contribute to creating new job opportunities and strengthening economic integration between the two countries.

For his part, Mr. Abusnina indicated that this MoU will enable Palestine to benefit from Morocco’s extensive experience in the field of industry, which will contribute to the development of Palestinian industry and enhance its competitiveness.

This MoU embodies the depth of the fraternal and historical relations between Morocco and Palestine and the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, including the industrial sector.
