Morocco’s Al Fassi accuses Salé of assaulting its media team and preventing them from broadcasting a match

Morocco Sporting Al Fassi has strongly condemned the verbal and physical assaults suffered by its media team by the officials of Salé Association, during the coverage of the team’s match in the Moroccan Basketball League held in Salé on June 02, 2024.

According to a statement issued by the team’s management, the media crew, led by the member of the managing office in charge of the media cell, was harassed and forcibly prevented by Salé officials from broadcasting the match live on the team’s official page on social media.

When the bureau member insisted on their right to broadcast the match, he was subjected to verbal assault and attempted physical assault by the home team officials between the two halves of the match and in front of the team’s dressing rooms.

The management of Morocco Sporting Fassi condemned these “barbaric” practices that harm national basketball, emphasizing that they are not in line with the values of sport and honorable competition.

The statement continued: “Our team has written to the Royal Moroccan Basketball University, supported by a detailed and comprehensive report with videos documenting these unfortunate events, and we demand an urgent investigation and take the necessary measures to punish those involved and prevent the recurrence of such practices in the future.
